Growing Technologies is happy to announce that we have been selected as Piedmont Virginia Community College's (PVCC) technology partner for their upcoming website redesign. We will be implementing Drupal 7 as their Content Management System (CMS) which will provide them with the ability to manage all their site content effortlessly while distributing the content editing responsibility throughout the organization while maintaining the overall management of the content with workflow management. With other advanced features such as integration with their Active Directory network, providing seamless signing sign-on for their faculty and staff and students and integration with PeopleSoft to support a dynamic class schedule the project be an exciting implementation.
Along with the advanced technology implementations, GT will be conducting a full information architecture for both the public site and PVCC intranet. Our goal is to identify and priortize PVCC's target audiences; their core content; and developing the ideal site structure to layout the paths to their content based on our finding. The process will be highly collaborative process bringing in PVCC faculty and staff and even students to provide a "real world" committee that will provide the information needed for the information architecture and a group to help with overall user acceptance testing. In addition, GT will be developing the new PVCC site with a responsive design. The information architecture will determine content priority so that the responsive template can adjust and present content based on priority or not at all.
GT has selected to partner with Convoy as the graphic designer for the PVCC redesign. Convoy was a natural choice to be the design partner for the PVCC project based on the wealth of higher education and higher education related projects they already have under their belt.
Look for the new site in September 2013, which will be launched with the opening of their new school year.
